In this class we'll be covering the topic of Bourbon and/or whiskey. We'll cover the history of Bourbon/whiskey making in America, as well as current rules and laws regulating these spirits. What is bourbon? Who makes it and where? What does 'small batch' mean? We'll answer all of these questions and expose a few myths in the process.
Our special guest teacher will be Nick Crutchfield, who is a Master of Whiskey with Diageo for the DC/MD/DE region. He has an extensive 20 year long background in the food and beverage industry and is BAR 5 Day Certified, a Sommelier, and a CAP Alumni with Tales of Cocktail. He was recognized as one of the top 10 bartenders in the US in 2013. He has traveled abroad to visit and study in distilleries in Scotland and Ireland and regularly visits distilleries here in the US whenever his schedule permits.
