In addition to the other Groth Wines we have, we have 3 Oakville Cabernets, 2005, 2006, and 2007 vintages.
The 2005 is big and lush with huge gobs of fruit in the aroma and flavor. The texture of the wine is soft and supple, typical of Cabernet Sauvignons grown in Groth's area of the Oakville AVA. Patience during the bottle aging will result in an outstanding bottle over the next 10 to 15 years.
The 2006 is packed with red and black currant flavors, this wine has the cool, refreshing feel of the forest. Tannins frame the berry fruit, providing contrast in umami flavors of wood-ear mushrooms, both tannins and fruit lasting in a finely structured, luxurious finish. Balanced for 10 years of age.
The 2007 has the lush fruit of a classic Oakville cabernet. The structure is lean and firm, with purple and blueberry fruit running straight through it. Sleek mineral tannins keep it tight, revealing a profile that will expand over time in the bottle.
These bottles as well as others from Groth are available in our wine cellar.
