The 2016 Haut-Cadet has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and light pine cone aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The well-balanced palate is supple on the entry, offering sappy black fruit laced with graphite and cedar. The fresh, dense finish suggests that this will give a decade's worth of drinking pleasure. Very fine.

This takes a fresh approach, letting the bright raspberry and cherry fruit play out, with light-handed toast and red licorice accents on the finish. Drink now through 2025.

This wine is perfumed, structured and rich. Full of black-currant flavors, rich in tannins and obviously still very young, it is going to develop into a powerful, ripe wine, with plenty of fruit and mature tannins. Drink from 2021.
