Château-La-Cabanne Pomerol 2015
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Pomerol|
The 2015 La Cabanne has a delightful bouquet with red currant, crushed strawberry, red plums and light rose petal aromas. There is also a sweet wet clayey aroma tucked behind the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh dark red cherry and strawberry opening, veins of dark chocolate coming through with aeration. It is a mid-weight Pomerol, not the most complex that you will find, though it is certainly well crafted. Drink within the next couple of years.
Made from 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Château La Cabanne offers lots of toasty oak and chocolate notes, as well as medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. This charming, supple and nicely textured 2015 is already approachable yet will keep for 15+ years. Tasted once.
Warm and inviting in feel, with dark plum and blackberry confiture notes inlaid with subtle anise, singed alder and incense accents. Offers a broad and fleshy finish, but with a perfumy hint as well. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2018 through 2023. 3,000 cases made.
